Real Ale and Cider Festival

The Sun at Lydiard's 2nd Annual Real Ale and Cider Festival will begin in true West Country style when it is opens on Thursday 28th April with a performance from The Wurzels!

The festival, which runs through the Bank Holiday Weekend, will feature over 30 ales and ciders sourced locally and nationally.

This varied collection has been brought together by James Sundquist, who for many years has been selecting the numerous ales for sister pub, The Steam Railway Co in Old Town.
 
The Wurzels will open the festival on the Thursday night with 'all the hits ... and more!'

The West Country foursome had Top 40 Hits in the 70's including 'Combine Harvester' and 'I Am A Cider Drinker' and have attracted younger fans with two more recently recorded albums of covers including songs by The Kaiser Chiefs, Robbie Williams, Oasis, Blur, Fratellis, Pet Shop Boys and Take That.

When they last played Swindon the event sold out with many fans turned away!



Those who attend will be granted temporary membership of The Sun Inn's 'Real Ale Tasting Society' R.A.T.S. and enjoy festival ales and ciders at just £2 a pint, and as the next day is a Bank Holiday in honour of the Royal wedding, you won't have to worry about getting up early.

The festival runs from Thusday 28th April until Monday 2nd May.

The gates will open on Thursday at 4.00pm with supporting bands from 6.00pm.

The limited number of tickets are expected to sell fast - they can be bought from the Sun Inn at Lydiard or from Swindon Tickets.
